The Christmas TV Strategy Guide 2017 – 23rd December
0900 – Channel 4 – Got a stop motion itch? This’ll do it for you thanks to it’s great art design and story. And, as a finale, it also has one of the best credit scenes you’ll ever see
0930 – BBC2 – Modern Muppets may not be to everyone’s taste but this one gets the feel of the characters right probably more than anything since A Muppet’s Christmas Carol, and some great songs as well
1120 – More4 – Gene Hackman shouting at a boat sinking around him. Yes please.
1305 – ITV3 – A big daft musical thats all over the place but he’s held together by a superb performance by Gene Wilder
1315 – BBC1 – Kiss my egg and all that!
1700 – 5star – Look. I’m not saying that you should, but if you ever did want to watch five (count them, five) Jennifer Aniston romantic comedies back to back then, well, here’s your chance
1800 – BBC2 – Horrible Histories in it’s prime was, quite frankly, one of the best shows on TV so having the same team together to make a film makes for an absolute treat
1845 – ITV4 – Another tenuously linked double bill, with an ape that can signal a right turn then a film with a man that can’t. Because he only has one arm. Never mind.
2235 – BBC2 – Remember that TV series I said to watch about Joan Crawford and Bette Davis? Well, here’s the two of them together in a proper classic film. You’re welcome
